Even more than the equipment that define the movement between parts and abrasives, chips correspond to the tools in operations of mass finishing and their correct choice is essential to obtain a successful result.
Whether they are intended for deburring operations or polishing, abrasive chips are characterized by :
Mineral for ceramic or porcelain, polyester for plastics, or metal (copper, stainless steel, steel…).
Aluminium oxide, Silicium oxide, Silicon carbide, Silicium oxide, Boron carbide, Boron nitride, Diamond micro-powders (Monocrystalline or polycrystalline)…
Their shape and dimensions defined by the workpieces ( straight or angle cut cylinder, triangle, ellipse, cone, pyramid, tristar, ball, Paraboloid, star, wedge…)
Media
They are chosen based on:
– The desired objective (deburring, polishing, edge radiusing, glossing, matte effect, etc.) and the material of the parts which define the grade of the media (more or less abrasive, or polishing)
– The size and morphology of the parts define the shape and dimensions of the media
Additives
They are chosen based on:
– Application (deburring, polishing, brightening, matte effect, degreasing, passivation, etc.)
– The composition of the parts to be treated
– The type of equipment used
– The type of effluent treatment
Pastes
Pastes allow you to speed up processes or work dry.
They also make it possible to maintain in suspension in the vibrators certain active products which would tend by gravity to remain at the bottom of the vibrating bowl.
